Turing College, a Lithuanian EdTech Startup, Wins €2.5M Grant to Transform Adult Learning with AI

Turing College, a Lithuanian EdTech startup, has secured a €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) to develop advanced AI-driven solutions for adult education! This prestigious grant, awarded to only about 70 companies from a pool of 969 applicants across Europe, highlights Turing College’s innovative edge.

Pioneering AI in Education

“This grant allows us to invest in solutions that ease the workload of our mentors while significantly improving student achievements and experiences,” says Lukas Kaminskis, founder and CEO of Turing College. “There’s a broad consensus that AI will positively transform education, but the exact changes are still emerging. For eight years, my team and I have explored this, and we’re confident we’ve found meaningful answers—at least in the digital skills space.”

The EIC, a European Union initiative, supports breakthrough projects and companies with potential to excel in European and global markets, funding early-stage and growing startups to drive technological and scientific advancements. This grant now positions Turing College to create unique AI solutions that will not only enhance teaching quality but also fundamentally transform the learning experience.

Personalised Learning, Powered by AI

Turing College aims to make learning more engaging through innovative AI solutions that personalise the educational journey. As Giedrius Žebrauskas, Head of Education at Turing College, explains, “AI won’t replace experts who create educational content. However, it allows us to deliver that content more efficiently and tailor it to each student’s unique needs.”

Learning, according to Žebrauskas, is inherently social and greatly benefits from interaction. AI can enhance this, guiding students toward timely discussions with mentors or peers and offering advice on maximising the value of these interactions.

Tracking Progress, Tailoring Learning

One of the biggest challenges in education is monitoring each student’s progress and adapting their learning path individually. The AI system Turing College is developing will assess students’ skills by analysing elements like project evaluations, expert feedback, discussions, and test results. This system will continuously identify topics that students are excelling in and where they need more support.

With this skill-assessment system, Turing College’s platform can customise the curriculum for each student based on their achievements and skill gaps. By leveraging large language models (LLMs) and other advanced technologies, the system will recommend the most beneficial topics at the right time, even adapting to each learner’s style.

Career Support for Students and Alumni

Another new AI system will help students and alumni find job opportunities tailored to their skill sets. Instead of individually evaluating each candidate’s competencies, this system will streamline the process, helping employers find exactly the talent they need, quickly and easily.

“There are endless unexplored possibilities for AI in education, and we’re excited that the EIC project allows us to dive into them,” concludes Žebrauskas. “We’re confident this will make our courses even more effective and engaging.”
