Gintarė Verbickaitė, head of Unicorns Lithuania, emphasizes that this year will see breakthroughs from both well-established players and new entrants, particularly those leveraging advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). Here’s a look at the Lithuanian startups poised to make waves in 2025:

1.Nexos.ai: Optimizing AI for Business


Founded by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, who are also the visionaries behind Tesonet and Nord Security, Nexos.ai is a new AI-focused startup aimed at helping businesses better manage and optimize AI models. Launched in late 2024, the startup has already raised $8 million from investors like Index Ventures, Creandum, and Dig Ventures. Their first product is set to launch in Q1 of 2025.

2. Ovoko: Accelerating E-commerce in Auto Parts


E-commerce platform Ovoko, specializing in car parts and logistics solutions, attracted €20 million in 2024 from Smash Capital. With 80% of sales occurring outside Lithuania, the company plans to scale further and is actively hiring across IT, data analysis, and customer support roles.


3.Cast AI: Driving Global Growth from Vilnius

In just five years, Cast AI has grown into a major player in cloud optimization, raising $55 million in 2023 and serving businesses worldwide. While operations are managed from North America, the engineering center in Vilnius continues to develop innovative AI infrastructure solutions.


4. Turing College: Redefining Global Education Tech


Named one of the world’s best data science programs by Course Report, Turing College has transformed into a global learning platform with students from 72 countries. A €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council will enable the integration of cutting-edge AI tools into its curriculum in 2025.

5. Walk15: A Rising Star in Wellness Tech


Valued at €15 million by the end of 2023, Walk15 continues to grow as a sustainable wellness startup. Recognized in Dealroom’s Rising Star category and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50, it stands out for its impact on businesses, communities, and the environment.


6. Pulsetto: From Prototype to Global Sensation


Creators of a vagus nerve stimulator that promotes relaxation, Pulsetto raised $400,000 through crowdfunding within two days. Now with over 100,000 global users, the startup continues to assemble its devices in Lithuania and was recently featured in a Netflix documentary, endorsed by Cristiano Ronaldo.


7. Caszyme: Advancing Gene Editing


Specializing in gene editing technologies, Caszyme partnered with Spain’s Integra Therapeutics in 2024. Their Cas12l proteins promise safer and more effective gene therapies, potentially generating €40 million in revenue over the next decade.


8. CTO2B: Cutting Cloud Costs with AI


Aiming to reduce cloud infrastructure expenses, CTO2B secured €1 million in early 2024. Its solutions free engineering teams from managing IT infrastructure, allowing businesses to focus on their core products.


9. Gurtam: IoT Innovators Making an Impact


Known for their IoT and fleet management platforms like Wialon, Gurtam relocated to Lithuania after the 2020 Belarusian elections. In 2024 alone, the company contributed €7 million to Lithuania’s budget and aims to exceed $200,000 in average annual revenue per employee.


10. Biomatter: Pioneering Synthetic Biology


With €6.5 million in funding, Biomatter is advancing synthetic biology through its Intelligent Architecture™ platform, creating entirely new enzymes with applications in numerous industries worldwide.
