Lithuania is increasing its military assistance to Ukraine with an additional €223 million earmarked for air defence, drones, and long-range artillery ammunition, Minister of National Defence Robertas Kaunas announced on 13 February 2026 in Brussels during meetings of NATO defence ministers and the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.
The minister said Lithuania’s total military support for Ukraine has already exceeded USD 1 billion, underlining Lithuania’s long-term commitment to Ukraine’s defence and Europe’s security.
Supporting Ukraine’s defence – and Ukraine’s defence industry
Lithuania is also expanding cooperation that strengthens Ukraine’s domestic defence production. Under what the ministry describes as a model of direct bilateral investment, Lithuania has allocated €32 million for the production of long-range strike drones for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Additional measures include:
- €10 million planned this year for additional drone production
- €20 million earmarked to procure long-range strike and naval drones from Ukraine’s defence industry

Lithuania is also contributing to the Czech-led ammunition initiative, allocating nearly €28 million for the production of two types of 155mm artillery shells, including long-range rounds. A further €5 million has been set aside for anti-tank mines.
Since the start of the year, Lithuania has already delivered €26 million worth of military aid, including generators, fuel tankers, counter-drone systems, and optical equipment.
Training, rehabilitation and demining
Lithuania continues to train and rehabilitate Ukrainian troops and is working with Iceland in the Demining Coalition. This year, Lithuania’s contribution to the coalition fund will total nearly €30 million, intended for the purchase of mine-resistant vehicles from Ukrainian manufacturers.
Long-term commitment
Lithuania has pledged sustained support to Ukraine, committing to allocate at least 0.25% of GDP annually to assistance.
Lithuania stands with Ukraine – with priorities, delivery, and long-term commitment.
