Lithuanian Chocolate Reaches Markets Worldwide

In 2025, Lithuania exported 35 million kilograms of chocolate of Lithuanian origin and products containing cocoa. Compared with 2024, the exported volume increased by 5.7 per cent, while the export value rose by 27 per cent. Over a two-year period, both the export value and the exported volume also increased: compared with 2023, the export value was 33.7 per cent higher, while the exported volume was 1.3 per cent higher.

“The export results for chocolate and other food products containing cocoa demonstrate not only the demand for this product group, but also the broad geography of exports – products made by Lithuanian manufacturers reach both the largest European markets and more distant countries,” says Aušra Jablonskienė, Head of the International Enterprise Activity Statistics Division at the State Data Agency.

The United Kingdom remained the main export market for chocolate and other products containing cocoa made by Lithuanian manufacturers in 2025. A total of 8 million kilograms of products were exported to the country, with a value of EUR 66 million. This market accounted for almost a quarter of the revenue generated from the export of these products.

Other key export partners included Poland, where the export value in 2025 amounted to EUR 33.1 million, Sweden at EUR 23.9 million, the Netherlands at EUR 23.6 million, Norway at EUR 22.6 million, and Germany at EUR 22.3 million.

Although the majority of products are exported to European markets, chocolate and other cocoa products made by Lithuanian manufacturers also reach more distant countries. In 2025, these products were exported to Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and other markets.
