The Lithuanian Season in France 2024
For three months from 12th September to 12th December 2024, Lithuania’s biggest cultural project outside the country to date, “The Lithuanian Season in France 2024”, will take place in France. Based on a partnership between Lithuania and France, the programme will introduce contemporary Lithuania to the French public in various forms for three months. More than 200 events in Lithuania will take place over the three months, with the participation of over 500 artists. Lithuania will be discussed through visual arts, architecture and heritage, performing arts, classical and contemporary music, cinema, literature, gastronomy, debates and conferences. The season will include events to promote diplomacy, the economy and innovation, scientific and educational cooperation projects.
The Season of Lithuania in France 2024 is united by the idea THE OTHER SAME / SE VOIR EN L’AUTRE, which became an invitation for Lithuania and France to meet to get to know each other better through cultural partnerships, and to encourage each of us to see ourselves in another. Bringing together artists, thinkers and public figures, the programme visualizes, voices and embodies diversity. Covering a wide range of contemporary cultural phenomena and media, the creators of the programme invite everyone to engage in a creative exploration and reflect on the past, the present, and possible future scenarios.
The project is implemented by the Lithuanian Culture Institute and the Institut Francais in Paris.
